It’s been a few years since I’ve participated in a reading challenge but Passages to the Past has created a historical fiction challenge again for 2019. I’ll be joining and, if this is a genre that you enjoy, I invite you to join along as well.
Basically, you select a reading level, see below, for the challenge, post on Passages to the Past and link up your reviews throughout the year. Sounds simple enough, right? I’ll be doing this once a month and would love also to link up with you if you join us. The more the merrier!
The Levels
20th Century Reader – 2 books
Victorian Reader – 5 books
Renaissance Reader – 10 books
Medieval – 15 books
Ancient History – 25 books
Prehistoric – 50+ books
Since this is my first challenge in a while, I’ll be going for the Renaissance Reader but hope to, at least, read one a month so my personal goal is 12 books. If you play along, please let me know. 🙂
Being an avid, even avaricious, reader, I’d love to take part in this challenge. However, I’ve been asked to act as one of the judges in a writing contest for a local authors and publishers group and that is going to tie up most of my reading time for the next couple of months. Next time around?

Being the judge for a writing contest sounds wonderful Barbara! Years ago, I was a mentor and, subsequently, a judge for an annual journalism workshop/competition. It was, by far, one of the most rewarding things I’ve done. It appears that the original blogger does this annually so maybe you can catch it next year.

This sounds like fun, and I’ve been wanting to try more historical fiction … Hmm. Might join you, even if it’s just for a few books!

I have a lot of historical fiction on my TBR, so this might be the incentive I need to read a couple each month. I could even reach the Ancient History level.

HistFic used to be all I read and somehow I moved away from it. I’m really looking forward to this challenge so I can get back to my roots! I hope you do join the challenge – I love your reviews and it would be great reading all of them!

Thanks Mac, I plan to as long as I can get myself organized.

Oh gosh, wait, we have to be organized!?! No one said anything about being organized to do the challenge – LOLOL!!!! Most likely, I will haphazardly muddle my way through it as always.
