I tried this a year ago, but I was also trying to read the physical books on my shelves at home. I also tied my hands by reading the alphabet in order. I did not finish I will try again this year, but with no stipulations. Good luck Mackey.

You were making it difficult for sure! I like that it forces you to read outside of your comfort zone. Good luck to you, too, Carla. I hope this time around is more enjoyable and you’re able to complete the alphabet! 🙂

Thanks Mackey. I visited the facebook page and am going to try and do some of the mini-challenges as well.

Good luck, Mackey! I’m doing this kind of challenge in two of my Goodreads groups. They’re fun but I always seem to get hung up on one letter😏

I did a challenge like this on GR a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It forced me to read outside of my comfort zone. This time I already have XX and Zen Physics for the two most difficult letters so, hopefully, I’ll do okay. Maybe Queenie for the Q?

Glad you’re joining us 🙂 I’m hosting the challenge and, because of a rough year last year, I didn’t even finish it. So it’s a fresh start for all of us! Happy reading 🙂

Thanks so much! I love these types of challenges and have done one on GR in the past. I’ve never gotten all the way through one, though, so I hope this year is a year for completion! Hope the same for you, too!

Mackay, you’re making great inroads on this challenge and I look forward to your ‘Z’ book. What about ‘X’?! I’ve been on the lookout for another reading challenge for this year and may well hop on board if that is okay! 😀

Thanks Annika. I’ve always enjoyed these types of challenges even though I’m not a challenge type reader by nature. I’m going to read, actually I am reading, XX. It’s about two married women who want to have a child of their own. They take an X cell from each of them and create a baby. While fiction, the research behind this is fascinating and these babies already exist today. Pretty awesome stuff. For Z, I have started reading Zen Physics. It is a beautifully written book about the zen of physics, non-fiction, which is something I’ve always been fascinated with. However, the science is so deep and mind boggling that I’m reading it super slowly. It literally may take until the end of the year to get through this book! But it’s worth it.

Wow! The two hardest letters all sorted and they sounds incredible books. I’ve put Zen Physics on my want list … I’m taken with it from just the first few pages but think this needs to be saved for a summer break! Enjoy … I have a feeling this will touch you deeply.

Several friends have read the Zen book and every one of them have had their lives changed by it. I’m taking it slowly and reading it alongside other books but, so far, it is truly enlightening.
